Future Prospective of Omics-System Biology to Control AMR: Recommendations and Directions
The rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria highlights the need for understanding biological processes. The “omics revolution” has led to large-scale studies of various cellular and tissue molecules, enabling the identification of biomarkers responsible for phenotype changes. Multi-omics, combining insights from small molecules, allows researchers to probe individual cells and understand the cellular level of resistance generation. Despite challenges in clinical implementation, multi-omics is expected to be a significant factor in understanding and combating drug resistance in bacteria.
